Is it true what they say about priests? That you have the hand of God?
This is a very short review as this film makes my movie guy stomach ill.Priest stars Paul Bettany as Priest, one of a group of super-powered men of god who have been chosen to fight vampires. These vampires not what you think – they are slimy mutants without eyes who hiss and jump at people, cutting them in half. When a group of vampires kidnaps his niece, Priest joins forces with her Sheriff boyfriend (Cam Gigandet) and a priestess (Maggie Q), against the Church’s wishes, to battle the vampires and get the girl back.
When the trailer for Priest I was rather intrigued about it, but the whole film screams out cliché and the film is trying much to hard to be something it’s not. From the unlikely action sequences to the foreboding stares between the characters at almost every turn, Priest just doesn’t build any kind of suspense, nor does it approach the characters with any kind of intelligence or charm. It has even put me off reading the graphic novel completely, it’s just another film company trying to make money on the current vampire craze. Please don’t waste your time
